After colliding with a tree, Manuel Lanzini, a West Ham midfielder, was uninjured.
The Argentine star was being driven to the Hammers’ training base by a driver on Thursday afternoon when he was involved in an incident.
The 29-year-old was examined by medics, but he had no injuries and did not need to be sent to the hospital.
“Officers attended and it was reported that a car had left the westbound carriageway before striking with a tree,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
Lanzini and his West Ham colleagues are preparing for Sunday’s Premier League match at the London Stadium against Everton.
The former Fluminense and River Plate midfielder has played 35 times for the Hammers this season in all competitions.
