After scoring in Portugal’s 3-0 victory over Hungary in Euro 2020 last June, the Manchester United forward equaled Gyan’s record of scoring in nine consecutive major international tournaments.
Ronaldo has the potential to set a new record.
If Ronaldo scores at the Mundial in Qatar, he will go down in football history as the only player to have scored in ten international tournaments.
Between 2006 and 2017, Gyan also scored in every Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and World Cup tournament.
Gyan, like Ronaldo, is Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, with 51 goals in an international career spanning over a decade and a half.
Since 2004, Ronaldo has scored in every international tournament, including the World Cup and European Championships.
