Liverpool have set a new club record for wins in a single season following their 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp rang the bells ahead of his side’s Champions League match against Villarreal on Tuesday. Naby Keita’s first-half strike was enough to secure all three points.
It was Liverpool’s 42nd victory in an incredible season in which the Reds are still chasing a historic quadruple.
Liverpool’s previous best season win total was 41 in 1985-86 and 2019-20, both under Klopp.
With four Premier League games remaining, as well as the FA Cup final against Chelsea and one or two games remaining in their Champions League campaign, the Reds appear to be on track to break their new record.
Liverpool will play Tottenham at Anfield next Saturday after their trip to Villarreal.
