Liverpool secure deals for 2 wingers in a double blow to Celtic. According to reports, Liverpool has agreed on deals for teenage wingers Ben Doak and Trent Kone-Doherty, dealing a double blow to Scottish giants Celtic.
Doak, a 16-year-old who has already made his first-team debut for Celtic, has agreed to a deal with Liverpool. The fee is estimated to be around £500,000, including add-ons, with the youngster signing a long-term contract with the Reds, according to Ghnewsfile.
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who started Doak against Dundee United, previously stated that he does not want players who do not want to play for them at the club.
“I’ve said all along my role is to look after the footballers that want to be here. The footballers that don’t want to be here? There’s another avenue there for them,” he explained.
Ghnewsfile understands that Leeds, Newcastle, and Everton were also keen on Doak, but the player opted for Anfield.
