Fans of Manchester United have urged billionaire Elon Musk to forget about buying Twitter and instead focus on the club so he can brag about his success on the site.
Elon Musk has been urged by Manchester United fans to abandon his pursuit of Twitter and instead purchase the Red Devils.
Before their match against Norwich on Saturday, United are organizing a protest against their current owners, the Glazer family.
Andy Goldstein, a talkSPORT presenter, responded to Musk prior of the Premier League match: “Elon, Elon. Retract ur offer. Buy Man United. Spend £2b on the best players in the world. Win everything. And then boast about it on Twitter.”
One fan replied: “It’s all tongue in cheek and that, but this would be mental… obviously…”
“We need this .. buy United and bring back our glory days,” another added. A third tweeted: “I second this. The only thing that could save Man Utd is Elon Musk!”
But not all thought the idea was a good one, and one fan joked: “He deals in electric cars, not train wrecks.”
Even though Musk’s purchase of United is exceedingly doubtful, some United fans fantasized about the Red Devils marching into Old Trafford with Tesla emblazoned across their chests.
Others, on the other hand, proposed that he buy both and have Twitter promote United.
