Cristiano Ronaldo will receive another ‘huge’ Saudi Arabia offer in January

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are expected to make ‘huge’ offers for Cristiano in January, according to reports.

The 37-year-old attempted to leave in the summer transfer window in search of Champions League football.

United are currently playing in the Europa League and it’s the first time Ronaldo has featured in that competition since his Sporting CP days 20 years ago.

No European club made a concrete offer for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, although Al Hilal and Al Nassr showed an interest.

The Sun claims Saudi sides are still monitoring Ronaldo’s situation with his contract set to expire in 2023.

Both sides also have the resources to make a move for the Portugal international in January if they feel they can turn his head.

It’s believed Ronaldo wants to play in the Champions League to further his status as the competition’s greatest goalscorer.

He’s scored 140 goals in Europe’s elite competition, 15 more than longtime rival .

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is two years younger than Ronaldo however and will be in the competition for the foreseeable future.

Ronaldo started Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in the Europa League and failed to make much of an impact, continuing his goalscoring drought.

La Real defender Jon Pacheco brushed off the nerves of playing against Ronaldo rather quickly.

He told Marca: “Yes it is true that it impresses, but more before the game, when you see that you are going to play against Cristiano Ronaldo.

“But then on the field you do not look so much at who he is and you only think about doing your job well.”

Despite scoring 24 times in all competitions last term, many believe Ronaldo’s powers are starting to wane.

EA Sports released their official top 23 players in FIFA 23 on Monday ahead of the game’s launch next month.

Ronaldo has been downgraded from a 91 to a 90 rating and his pace stat has gone down from 87 to 81.

It’s the first time in franchise history that Ronaldo and will have the same pace.
