Barcelona Lands a sponsorship deal with Spotify, Includes rebranding of Camp Nou

The deal with the streaming giant is said to be worth €280 million. For the first time in the club’s history, the stadium will be renamed. Barcelona announced on Tuesday that it has signed a shirt and stadium sponsorship deal with audio streaming platform Spotify.

From the 2022-23 season, the brand will appear on the front of the men’s and women’s team shirts for four seasons. In addition, Spotify will be the first brand to sponsor the club’s stadium, which will now be known as Spotify Camp Nou.

“The partnership’s vision is to create a new platform to assist artists in interacting with FC Barcelona’s global community of fans,” the club said in a statement.

Neither Barcelona nor Spotify have confirmed the financial terms of the agreement, but the Catalan radio station Rac1 reports that it is worth €280 million (£235 million).

Rakuten, a Japanese retailer, has sponsored the men’s team since 2017, while Stanley Black & Decker, a toolmaker, became the women’s team’s official shirt sponsor in 2018.
