While twins are an uncommon occurrence, finding two who play professionally together is more exceptional. 

Some notable players were born with a twin, and while some of these twins end up pursuing the same career path, one of them may be more successful than the other. 

In this article, we’ll look at the top ten most famous footballing twins in professional football.

The former Dutch internationals are among the Netherlands’ greatest players ever, and both starred for FC Barcelona during their careers.

Frank even became the first player to reach 100 caps for his nation in 2003, before seeing his record broken by Edwin van der Sar three years later.

The Van de Kerkhof brothers, who were born in the Netherlands and played for both FC Twente and PSV, were forerunners of the De Boers. They also attended the 1974 and 1978 World Cups, respectively.

In 2011, Rafael and Fabio da Silva won the Premier League with Manchester United. 

The near-identical utility midfielders grew up together at 1860 Munich before splitting up, with Lars joining Bayer Leverkusen and Sven joining Borussia Dortmund, only to reconcile in 2017 when the latter joined his brother at Leverkusen.

From 2003 through 2016, the Berezutski brothers, both 1.9 m tall and equally formidable, created a human wall next to each other on defence for both CSKA Moscow and Russia’s national team.

The Altintop twins were and are frequently confused for each other due to their identical names and careers as Turkey internationals and Schalke/Bundesliga stalwarts.
